Packaging Foreperson and Experienced Cellar Hand position available - Three Boys Brewery, Christchurch

Our brewery has been operating for 12 years and we are looking for a suitably qualified person to be our packaging foreperson and a cellar brewery hand. They will be responsible for managing and running the packaging of our beer (mostly bottling, kegging and canning) and when required assisting in other day-to-day aspects of brewery operation.

The successful applicant’s primary role will be managing and operating bottling and canning lines and packaging beer for distribution. The role includes ensuring that plant and equipment is maintained and regularly serviced. Accordingly, the person in this role will need to be well organised, thorough, efficient and hardworking with excellent bordering on obsessive attention to cleanliness, detail and safety.

Packaging beer in a way that maintains quality and consistency is crucial in a successful brewery and we will highly value a person who can do this job with commitment and passion.

Along with this primary role is in packaging, you would also be involved in diverse general duties around the brewery right through the production process. You may also be required to deliver beer around the city at times and serve customers in the front of house brewery fillery.

To be part of our small team it is essential that you can multi-task, use your imitative, and adjust to changing priorities. We need someone who is enthusiastic, who can work well in a team and independently. We also need someone who is a self-starter and who can work at a fast pace in this often physically demanding role. The successful applicant will be physically fit and strong and capable of being on their feet for long periods at a time. You must be able to crouch, bend, lift and reach and be able to work in cold and loud environment. It would be of benefit to be licensed (car and forklift).

Overall, this is a very hands-on role, but it also requires a focus on planning, scheduling and quality control.

We are ideally looking for someone with the following skills/attributes:

  • Proven experience in and commitment to adhering to process and procedure
  • Experience in working in environments where cleanliness and sterile techniques are crucial. Including a good understanding of QA procedures
  • Experience in setting and operating liquid filling bottle production lines or similar
  • A logical, mechanical and technical approach to problem solving
  • Excellent attention to detail with accurate record keeping
  • Pride in producing high quality products without exception
  • A self-starter with excellent prioritisation and time management
  • Well-presented with good verbal, written and computer skills

Normal hours are between 7.00am to 4.30 pm Monday to Friday with occasional overtime when required. This is a full-time role, but we could be flexible for a great candidate.
