New releases

Third Eye Nutmeg Brown Ale (6%) – brewed to support Lokomotiv Beer Quarter Football Club, a brown ale with nutmeg, Fuggles and East Kent Goldings. A symphony of nuts, toffee and toast with grassy, earthy hop notes. Launches tomorrow at Third Eye.

Zeelandt Fields of Clover Irish Dry Stout – Black in the glass. Full malt aroma slight aroma from Goldings hop, coffee-like which translates onto the palate. Medium-light body, dry finish with no lasting sweetness. Hop bitterness is followed by black malt bitterness. Available from Friday at Westshore Beach Inn, Napier on the hand pull, tap and nitro tap. 1 beer, 3 taps.

Sunshine Sauvin Sour (4.5%) – Kettle Soured with Lactobaccillus – Acidopholis - Delbrruckii....that’s Yoghurt! Fermented with our strain of Lager Yeast, late hopped and dry hopped with copius amounts of Nelson Sauvin. 50% Wheat Malt. Refreshingly acidic. Available at the brewery tomorrow.

Harrington’s Breweries 25 Rogue Hop Deluxe (6.3%) – to celebrate 25 years of Harrington’s we have taken our popular Rogue Hop New Zealand pilsner and pumped it up by 25%. An abundance of extra hops really brings those gooseberry flavours to party in a 25% stronger beer.

 

SOBA Winter Ale Festival - 31 beers from 28 brewers, including: 

North End Oud Bruin 7% - A Flemish style brown ale combining a gentle lactic acidity with rich malt and dark fruit flavours.

Eagle Brewing Something Old Something New 6.5% - This Old Ale is a collaboration with Trade Aid combining their Peruvian Muscovado sugar with NZ Malts and hops to drag this style kicking and screaming into the New World.

Townshend Brewery HM’s Black Strap Porter 4.5% Rich dark and complex, this delicious Porter is creamy, chocolaty and malty, with a hint of espresso.

Te Aro Brewing Boysen Da Wood 6% - Boysenberry Saison, aged with Brett Lambicus in Chardonnay barrels.

8 Wired/Modern Times Halfway to Whangarei 5.5% - Inspired by the coal miner’s beer of choice in 1800s Wallonia. Fermented with our saison strain followed by secondary fermentation by Modern Times’ house strain of brettanomyces. New Zealand hops elevates it from the coal mines and makes it Modern.

Lord Almighty Rum Oaked Ursus 13% - 18 month aged Ursus on 18 year old rum drenched oak. This’ll keep even the most adventurous bears out of your beard!  

Wild Beer III 9% - Imported by Beertique. A juicy, sweet barley wine from the Wild Beer Co. in Somerset, packed to the brim of fruity deliciousness.
