By BeertownNZ Mon, 29 May 2017 Wellington

Winter Ales Festival 2017 is on Saturday 22 July from 2pm to 8pm, back at The Hunter Lounge.

Getting tickets

All ticket sales will be through a WAF17 PledgeMe Campaign from this Thursday 1 June.

The basic ticket will include eight tasters and food, for $60. You will be also be able to purchase Festival merchandise and Festival packages.

As with all PledgeMe campaigns, if the target is not reached the money will not be taken from your account. We anticipate WAF17 will reach its goal before the campaign closes on 30 June. Once the campaign finishes and payment is received your ticket will be emailed directly to you.

Volunteering

Winter Ales has an excellent history of volunteers – we have invited previous volunteers back, and are always keen for extra help – flick an email to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. titled 'I want to help'.

Event management

This year SOBA has handed over Winter Ales to Jane Street and Jay Taylor to run WAF17. Jane and Jay have talked with Craft Beer Capital to be the WAF partnering sponsor to maintain the festival as a beer community focused event. Jane and Jay are both involved in the Wellington beer scene, loved WAF last year, and are stoked to be delivering it to the beer community this year along with crucial support from the craft beer community.

Beers & Breweries

We have had an awesome response from local breweries and distributors. We have over 30 beers on the list and it's still growing! We still have a few more spaces available for any breweries that are keen – check your emails for details.

We have some old favourites returning; Bach, Baylands, Behemoth, Black Dog, Choice Bros, Duncans, Eagle, Epic, Fork & Brewer, Garage Project, Hallertau, Hop Fed, Kakariki Brewing, Liberty, Lord Almighty, Maiden Brewing, Martinborough, Mikes, North End, Parrot Dog, Sprig & Fern, Townshend, Tuatara, Wild and Woolly PLUS new beers from Juice Head, Hey Day and Fortune Favours.

Beertique and Beer Without Borders will also be providing us with some treats from overseas.

Yes there will be Nitro, and you can't have a winter ales without handpumps.

The beer list is still being compiled, so watch for updates on the brews you'll be tasting at WAF17.
