Beer Without Borders Freiheit not Reinheit Anti-Reinheitgebot launches include:

FREIGEIST ABRAXXXAS - Inspired by the rare and nearly extinct eastern German tart wheat beer once known as "Lichtenhainer”, Abraxxxas is sour and complex, with a balancing smoky maltiness. Smoked Beer 6.00%

THE MONARCHY PREUSSEN WEISSE - Before 1906, when the Bavarian Reinheitsgebot went into full effect in all areas of the German lands, brewers had typically thrown in just about any available indigenous ingredients into the brewing kettles, as fermentables or flavorings. The Monarchy’s uniquely refreshing Preussen Weisse (or “Prussian White”), brewed to an 1831 recipe, is both a tribute to lost regional styles and a gentle regional snub, owing to it’s name and the inclusion of sugar beet syrup, ginger & juniper. Wheat Beer 5.6%

THE MONARCHY METHUSALEM - Named after the legendary world’s oldest man, Methusalem is The Monarchy’s perilously drinkable version of a classic “Adambier” the slightly sour & hoppy strong Altbier that enjoyed great popularity in 19th century Dortmund. Perfect for storing, the mighty Methusalem is, like it’s namesake, made to last a long time. Adambier 10.00%

FREIGEIST GEISTERZUG GOSE - Based on a recipe dating back at least six hundred years, this is Freigeist’s quirky version of the nearly extinct traditional sour beer of Leipzig. “Geisterzug” (“Ghost Train”) spruced gose is unusually complex, funky, and fullbodied. Smoked Beer 6.0%

FREIGEIST EHRENFELDER - Though Freigeist’s Sebastian Sauer calls Cologne home, he originally hails from the city’s arch-Rhineland-rival Düsseldorf. In a typically Freigeistian breach of historical German brewing etiquette, he dares to create a Düsseldorf-style Alt under the banner of a company whose local colleagues would sooner die than abandon their hometown Kölsch! The unique, unfiltered Ehrenfelder (named after a neighborhood in Cologne, no less!) offers up the perfect contrast to it’s light, clean rival—rich, roasty and malty, with a healthy dose of hops and a hint of smoke. Altbier 4.8%
