New releases this week

Invercargill Brewery Special Edition B.Man NZIPA (5%) – Developed by production manager Damon Milne with generous proportions of Waimea, Wakatu, Wai-iti and Pacific hops. A multidimensional NZIPA that’s very sessionable with enough sweetness to carry the bitterness. A real tribute to the high alpha acid development by NZ Hops. Available now. Beertown says – seek it out!

Invercargill Brewery 2016 Saison (6.5%) – A French farmhouse-style beer, candied lime/orange with spice, juicy fruit, with a silky smooth light malt sweetness – finishing dry. The citrus flavour of the hops has been augmented by two weeks dry “hopping” over orange peel. Available now.

Moa Sours 2014 Vintage

Moa Cherry Sour 2014 (7%) – Brewed with a wheat beer base and whole Marlborough cherries with 12 months in a combination of tank and barrel on the skins and stones, cherry flavours are very upfront. Available now.

Moa Sour Blanc 2014 (6.7%) – Fermented and aged in a combination of tank and oak barrels using natural wild yeast and selected bacterium, this beer carefully balances phenolic and complex acidity with dryness and funk. Available now.

Fork Brewing Simcode American Strong Pilsener (7%) – This S.M.A.S.H. beer (Single Malt and Single Hop) using Simcoe hops has a rich malt backbone with wisps of honey and wine biscuit, balanced by a clean, herbal hop bitterness. Simcoe is one of those hop varieties that's distinctly American. It throws off a complex aromatic profile that focuses on pine needles, the peel of preserved lemons and the faintest herbal, woody hint of a freshly cut conifer branch. On tap today from 4pm at Fork & Brewer and Malthouse

Sunshine Brewery Dubbel Happy Trappist Style Dubbel (6.5%) – 100% Czech Saaz Hops balance out this smooth, malty ale. Available tomorrow at the brewery. 50L only – don’t muck about!
