New releases

Brew Union Dry Stout (5.5%) - A clean roasted aroma with hints of chocolate, coffee and caramel leads into a smooth dry finish. Expect notes of raisins and hints of plums at the back of the palate. A crisp dry finish leads you to want that next sip to find all those flavours all over again. Available from Thursday at Brew Union, 41 Broadway, Palmerston North.

Three Boys/Cryer Malt Imperial Oyster Stout (12%) - This beast of a beer boasts dark chocolate, fresh coffee and a salty ocean fog. Briny Bluff Oysters layer the salts that break through the sweetness of the malts and the thickness of the 12% ABV. Boozy but easy, like a dozing pirate, this beer is designed to be buried in the ground to be dug up and enjoyed another day.

Three Boys 10th Anniversary Apricot Ale (10%) - This barley wine rocks in at 10% ABV and is plush with ripe apricots harvested from vacant Red Zoned properties on our 10th anniversary in 2015. Ripe apricot combines with fruity esters and subtle toffee malt to give a rich & complex aroma. Initially sweet, stone fruit marmalade, caramel biscuit and finishes with a tangy apricot tartness that lingers long after you've finished the bottle.

Other Three Boys Brewers' Reserves available now:

  • Sour Wester (4.5%) - Kettle soured and a heavy hand of hops, this collaboration with Altitude Brewing is going fast! A refreshing sour beer which won't last long!
  • White IPA (5.7%) - This beer has a happy following who just won't let us stop making it! Mandarins and marmalade dance on this wheat based ale making for a refreshing drop.
  • Citra Pilzen (6%) - We've had to re-release this bold pilsner due to the uproar when we ran dry of the first batch! So much citra hops... so much!
